Dark Chocolate Almond Butter

IMG_8234.jpg

This is delicious! I made almond butter last week and a couple days later I was eating some dark chocolate roasted almonds and realized that should be my almond butter! If you love chocolate like I do, you will certainly love this almond butter. Pairing with some fruit or spread on toast, will enhance your breakfast or snack. You could even use this in a crepe with bananas! The ideas go on, be creative!

I used my Vitamix, it was amazingly easy and fast. Using a food processor will work too, just make sure the first step of grinding the almonds you take your time and let the almonds produce its natural oils to create a nice consistency before adding the canola oil.

Ingredients

  • 1 bag of dark chocolate roasted almonds (came out to about 3 cups)

  • about 3 tablespoons of canola oil

Instructions

  1. Using a Vitamix: Add almonds to canister, start at variable 1 and slowly increase to 10. Blend for about two minutes (using the tamper to push/mix edges).

  2. Turn off, add oil and turn on at variable 8 for another 30 seconds.

  3. That's all! Enjoy!
