Trick or Treat Yo'Self

For a simple, yet indulgent dessert table, I presented chocolate cake, brownies, candy corn flavored kettle corn and Halloween candy.

The brownies are three easy layers: store-bought cookie dough, Halloween Oreos, and brownie batter. After you layer these three favorite treats, bake at 325 for about an hour or until a toothpick pierced into the center comes out clean.

Use your favorite chocolate cake recipe or boxed cake mix for a simple cake to start with. I used a bundt pan for my cake's shape. Bake cake according to box's directions then simply drizzle different colored icing from a Ziplock baggie across the top and finish with some spooky edible eyes. You can purchase the eyes on Amazon or Michael’s Craft Store in the baking section.

Throw a clean skeleton on a platter and stuff it with anything you'd like from cheese and crackers, to fruit and veggies. Chicken and waffles is always a fan favorite. Want to know the best part? You don't need to cook a thing! Just order a tray of Chic-fil-a nuggets, toast some mini Eggos, slide a fancy Halloween toothpick and voila! Win-win for everyone, don’t forget to have a side of maple syrup to complete the dish.

When have tacos ever let anyone down? Make a nice big batch of taco meat and complete your taco bar with all your favorite toppings. Turn these into walking tacos by supplying mini bags of Doritos. Follow these simple steps: crush the bag and open, fill the bag with the toppings, then enjoy every spoonful as you scoop into the bag for a bite of taco all while walking around party.
