Get brave with this unique pizza topping choice and you won’t regret it! Now, if you don’t like pickles, then it’s possible you still won’t like this combo. However, if you are a dill pickle fan, I promise you will find this amazing! If you’re familiar with dill pickle chips and enjoy them, then why not enjoy a dill pickle pizza? The first (and only) time I heard of a dill pickle pizza is from a great little spot in Amherstburg, Ontario, Canada. It’s called The Salty Dog. Immediately I had to recreate this delicious pizza at home. I am not saying this is their recipe or how they make it, but here is a simple way to make your own version in the comfort of your home.

Ingredients:

  • 250g pizza dough, room temperature

  • All purpose flour, just for dusting

  • 1 cup (or so) of shredded mozzarella cheese

  • About 20 slices of dill pickles

  • ½ tsp dried dill or fresh dill

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 450.

  2. Lightly dust a clean work surface with flour and begin to roll out your pizza dough into your desired shape. Transfer rolled out dough onto a well oiled baking sheet.

  3. Spread the shredded mozzarella cheese out into a thin, even layer over the dough. Layout the pickle slices then sprinkle with dill.

  4. Bake for 15-20 minutes. Let cool slightly before cutting. Serve as is, or garnish with fresh dill.
