Lucky Charms Treats

IMG_9556.jpg

I make these marshmallow treats every year for my third grade students on St. Patrick’s Day. The children love them! It’s literally the classic Rice Krispie Treat recipe you can find either on the back of its cereal box or a bag of marshmallows. All I do is substitute the cereal for Lucky Charms. This makes a fun, magically delicious treat for St. Paddy’s Day...or any day really :)

Ingredients

  • 3-4 tablespoons butter

  • 1 10 oz bag JET-PUFFED Marshmallows OR  4 cups JET-PUFFED Miniature Marshmallows

  • 5-6 cups Lucky Charms Cereal

Instructions

  1. In a large saucepan melt butter over low heat. Add marshmallows and continuously stir until completely melted. Remove from heat.

  2. Add Lucky Charms Cereal. Use a spatula or wooden spoon to stir until well coated.

  3. Using buttered spatula or wax paper evenly press mixture into 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan coated with cooking spray or butter. * I love lining the pan with parchment or wax paper. This will allow it to be much easier to remove once they are done. I also like to get my hand wet while I am pressing the mixture onto the pan. It helps the marshmallows not stick to your hands or feel the hot temperature of the melted marshmallows.

  4. Place in refrigerator and let cool. Cut into squares. Best if served the same day but are still great a day or two after. Just make sure to tightly cover in plastic wrap or an air tight container.
