Nutella Ravioli

I've shared a Nutella pizza recipe, why not a ravioli this time! A long time ago I watched Giada De Laurentiis make Nutella ravioli, so grazie Giada!. This is super easy with only a few simple steps. Below I have the directions to lightly fry on the stove and the recipe for the air fryer method. These Nutella filled wontons are lightly fried then topped with a sprinkle of powdered sugar. Serve this with your favorite ice cream, the crispy wontons and the warm Nutella makes the perfect combination paired with your favorite gelato!

Ingredients

  • wonton wrappers

  • Nutella

  • powdered sugar

  • vegetable oil for frying or spray for air frying

  • cup of water

  • favorite gelato

Instructions

  1. Prepare your ravioli: layout a wonton square, add a little spoon full of Nutella to the center of the square. Then, dip your figure in the water and trace the edges of the square like it is glue. Fold the wonton over to create a triangle then press around the edges firmly to seal. Make sure they aren't too stuffed caused the wonton to rip. Also if they are firmly sealed, they will pop open while frying.

  2. Assemble your desired amount and set aside.

  3. Use a deep fryer or heat oil in a deep pot, measure about 2-3 inches.

  4. Heat on medium heat, wait till oil is hot before adding ravioli. You can test this by adding a sprinkle of flour in the oil and if it sizzles, it is ready.

  5. Drop only 3-4 ravioli in at a time, cook until golden, flip/toss and cook until golden all around. This won't take too long.

  6. Once done, use a slotted spoon to scoop out and transfer to a plate with a paper towel to absorb any extra oil.

  7. AIR FRYER DIRECTIONS: Preheat air fryer to 400 for 2-3 minutes. Then spray the basket with oil, place Nutella filled ravioli in the air fryer, don’t overlap, then cook for 5 minutes, until golden.

  8. Transfer to a dessert plate or bowl with a scoop of your favorite gelato. Sprinkle with powdered sugar and immediately serve warm.
