Italian BLT
Who doesn't love a BLT sandwich? I decided to substitute a few ingredients with their Italian relative ;) Instead of bacon, I used pancetta. Then I switched out spreading mayo on the slices of bread with some ricotta cheese! All that stacked in between some toasty ciabatta bread...amazing!
Here are the ingredients needed to put together 1 sandwich.
Ingredients
2-3 tablespoons whole milk ricotta cheese
1 piece of romaine lettuce, cut in half
4 thin slices of pancetta
1 small Roma tomato, sliced
salt
olive oil
1 ciabatta roll
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 450.
Place the pancetta on a baking sheet and bake for about 10-12 minutes. Until nice a crispy.
Shut off oven, you can now slice the ciabatta and place on the rack in the oven to toast it a little, about 10 minutes (to your liking).
In small bowl, mix a little splash of olive oil and a sprinkle of salt with the ricotta. Stir to combine.
Slice tomatoes thin.
On the bottom piece of bread, spread the ricotta cheese.
Then layer the pancetta.
Top with lettuce, then tomatoes, sprinkle a little salt over the tomatoes.
Close the sandwich and enjoy!
